Michael Harrison

Michael Harrison leads the Azrights patent department. He holds a doctorate in chemistry from Oxford and is a European and Chartered Patent and Trade Mark Attorney with over 35 years of IP experience, having worked at leading practices including Boult Wade Tennant, Urquhart Dykes & Lord, DLA Solicitors, and Harrison Goddard Foote. He is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.

His work covers patents, trade marks, and registered designs across mechanical and chemical fields. He currently manages the IP portfolio of a significant international company and advises businesses on IP strategy.

Michael's view is straightforward: patents only seem mysterious because of the jargon around them. His job is to cut through that — translating complex patent language into plain English, and presenting the choices involved in UK and international applications in a way that lets clients make informed commercial decisions. Those decisions, he knows, can make or break a business.
